In pursuit of its mission to promote awareness to empower individuals in Lebanon to prevent, manage, and live better with diabetes and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs), DiaLeb hosted a fundraising event titled “Together in Solidarity Sunset Soiree” on July 17, 2025 at Sporting Club Beach, Beirut, Lebanon.

The evening brought together DiaLeb’s community of supporters and volunteers, healthcare advocates, and media in encouragement of DiaLeb’s impactful work. From public awareness and early glucose testing, to targeted campaigns like #DiabetesMedication4All, which aims to provide access to essential treatment for underserved individuals across Lebanon, and more, DiaLeb is ensuring a lasting positive impact on the Lebanese community.

The event opened with a warm welcome as guests enjoyed refreshments with a view of Lebanon’s beautiful sunset and connected in a relaxed but purpose-driven atmosphere. DiaLeb’s Founder and President, Dr. Jackie Maalouf, thanked the guests, team, and board members for their tireless support to DiaLeb’s mission. Four dedicated DiaLeb members were recognized with symbolic appreciation awards - honoring their commitment, courage, and belief in DiaLeb’s mission. These recognitions highlighted the spirit of volunteerism and grassroots leadership that continue to drive the organization’s reach and resilience.

In attendance was Sylvie Maalouf, DiaLeb’s Co-Founder and managing director, a person living with type 1 diabetes, whose personal journey was the catalyst behind the organization’s founding in 2011. Her presence serves as a powerful reminder of DiaLeb’s origins which are rooted in lived experience and community empowerment.

The event welcomed over 80 attendees, including representatives from the health, fitness and wellness sectors, media platforms such as Beiruting and What’s Up Lebanon, and several public health advocates, and concluded on an uplifting note with a live performance by vocalist Krystel Eid, whose set inspired guests to take to the dance floor.

The Sunset Soirée reflected the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration, community engagement, and sustainable partnerships. DiaLeb remains committed to envisioning a future where every individual in Lebanon and beyond is empowered with the knowledge, resources, and support needed to prevent, manage, and live well with diabetes and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
