I. Target Audience:
Dietetic Students, Dietetic Interns, Licensed Dietitians, and Registered Dietitians Nutritionists.
This Workshop is open to Lebanese and International participants.
II. Workshop Goals:
The online workshop will go over the most recent dietary recommendations for people living with diabetes and approach the basics of carbohydrate counting through a case-based approach. Attendees will also be given the opportunity to practice and apply the knowledge and skills acquired in a case study. All attendees will be provided with meal planning tools that they can use to design meal plans catered to patients' needs in line with dietary guidelines in their practice.
III. Workshop Objectives:
At the end of this workshop, participants will:
- Show an increased knowledge of basic carbohydrate counting.
- Have the necessary tools needed to design meal plans for different types of patients.
- Demonstrate knowledge in nutrition focused physical exams in people living with diabetes.
