Reading and understanding Food Labels – an essential tool to plan a healthy balanced diet:

- The Nutrition Facts label is required by the Food and Drug Administration on packaged foods and beverages. At a minimum, the product must list the amount of total fats, saturated fats, Trans fats, total carbohydrates, dietary fibers, sugars, protein, iron, Calcium, vitamins A and C and sodium in one serving
