If your blood glucose is less than 70 mg/dL, then you are having hypoglycemia. What to do?

-  Eat or drink something that contains 15 grams of sugar, preferably in a form that is absorbed quickly. Good choices include 1/2 cup of fruit juice, one tablespoon honey or table sugar

-  Try to avoid over treating hypoglycemia by overeating because you may get hyperglycemia

-  Don't eat pure chocolate to treat hypoglycemia because it contains lots of fat and relatively little sugar, so it takes longer to raise your blood glucose
